The Horsehead Nebula - IC 434

The Horsehead Nebula gets its name from the close resemblance to the head of a seahorse or chess piece. This is a difficult object to see in most telescopes. Distance from Earth is about 1200 light years. Also in this photo is the Flame Nebula (NGC 2024)
