APJ Texas Weiners

Located at 47 N. 13th St. in downtown Philly, across from the Criminal Justice Center, APJ Texas Weiners has been in business since 1920.  The Texas weiner is a hot dog which is sliced and fried on the grill.  It is then covered with spicy mustard, chopped raw onions and the key, a secret chili.  It's served on an extra wide hot dog bun.  

The taste of this sandwich explodes in your mouth and stays with you for a couple of hours.  A good burp an hour later serves as a reminder unlike the fast burger joints where you burp and say, "what was that?"  At only $1.50, it's a bargain.
