1931 Model
"A"
Ford
The 1931 Model "A" Tudor Sedan was my first car, which I bought in April 1968. While I was in the U.S. Navy from 1968-1971, this was my daily transportation and I logged
over 30,000 miles, many of which were "road running" between Philadelphia and
Oceana Naval Air Station in Virginia Beach, VA. I restored the car to its original
condition between 1972 and 1976 and have recently completed its second
restoration. No hot-rod for this guy, I'm a purist. If I want
speed...see below.
1969 Corvette
Stingray Coupe
I bought my 'Vette in 1974 and used it daily until 1984 at which point it had accumulated
126,000 miles. It's Classic White with a bright blue interior.
Quite striking! Over the intervening years I've been
restoring it and it's now nearing completion. The only modifications
to the car are an LT-1 hood, exhaust headers for increased performance and a
switch of transmissions from automatic to a factory close ratio Muncie
4-speed. This car is a hoot to drive.
1988 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail
Classic
My two wheeler is a 1988 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail Classic (FLSTC). The paint
scheme and general look is reminiscent of a 1952 H-D Panhead. She's a great, dependable
machine and I've ridden her to Niagara Falls, Milwaukee, Virginia Beach and numerous
destinations in between.
Riding the Harley is an elixir for me. Get out on the highway, crack the throttle a little
and just blot out those little problems of everyday life. There's a Harley saying,
"if I have to explain, you wouldn't understand."
1981 Ferrari
308 GTSi
Gone but not forgotten, I sold my Ferrari
a couple of years ago to a good friend.
I'll keep it on the web site for awhile longer just because I still enjoy
looking at it.
In
typical Ferrari fashion, the color is Rosso Corsa which appropriately translates to
"racing red" but is commonly referred to as "Ferrari Red". The
interior is black.
You may notice that the car is identical to the one driven by Tom Selleck in the popular
TV show, "Magnum P.I." Besides its beautiful lines, the popularity of the 308
series was no doubt boosted by the show and these models are often referred to as
"Magnum Ferraris." The 308 designation refers to 3.0 liter 8
cylinder while the GTSi stands for Gran Turismo Spyder injected.
The car is mid-engined and is powered by an aluminum alloy dual overhead cam V-8
which produces 205 hp. While lacking the torque and raw acceleration of the Corvette, the
Ferrari's superb handling, braking, sound and top speed make it a thrill to drive.
